No outgoing calls beginning with * or #

[Android Central Question]

For some reason, I can no longer make outgoing calls that begin with * or #. If I try to use either one, ie, *67 and the phone number to block my number, or #PMT or other Verizon shortcuts, I just get four beeps and the call disconnects. Verizon tech support was unable to help me with this.
