No "Paid" apps for Non-Samsung phone users?

I imagine that there might be paid apps some of us may be interested in purchasing, but we can't currently do so. We had to create Samsung accounts, so not sure why we're currently unable to access paid apps.

Has anyone heard officially if these will be supported at some point?

From the Samsung Gear Apps option in the Gear app on your phone.

I asked samsung about this and their reply was that they aren't supporting payments for non samsung phones yet.
No information why or what does 'yet' mean.. So no cool watch faces
