I got a new 2025 Moto G and having problems with connecting to my Block Rocker Bluetooth speaker. There are no phone call option to turn off. I am getting text notifications and calls from speaker. Try everything I can think of? Works fine on other bluetooth speaker. I have clear cache and reset networks. These are the options:

Welcome to Android Central forums. It is really odd that with no option for calls and notifications it would just default to playing them through your speaker. Looking at your screenshot it appears the device is seeing the speaker as headphones and since it doesn't offer you control directly in the device's BT settings I would suggest you look in your regular settings for settings and behavior related to headphones in general.

I don't know how this could be a bug or a glitch but have you tried forgetting the connection and re-doing it? Again it's just odd that there is no setting or toggle for this and maybe something happened during the pairing that pairing again might correct.

In the meantime, we can ask moderators here to move this to the Moto threads, where at least you'll be asking other users who may have experienced this issue themselves. @Laura Knotek @mustang7757

Then I found this Moto community with some recent posts. You could try posting your question here, again where users share your device.

I hang out on the Red River with friends and I the one that plays music. While playing yesterday the phone rang and played very loud on speaker. I really dont want to turn notifications for phone and messages off. Guess I will use my old phone for playing music. Cant believe there is not a fix for this.

I checked out your link and I'm skeptical to say the least. I did see some post that sounded like they were experiencing this issue because they commented that the advised work around worked. Did you by chance try the work around? You don't mention it but it's the top listed response.

Even on latest stock (Pixel 9a), it is possible to see each bluetooth device settings by temporary disabling Google Play services, configure desired channel for each headset then re-enable it. No need to unpair or even turn the headset on. No need to mess up with Developer settings. Seems to persist after phone restart even if the setting is hidden after re-enabling Google Play services. For a temporary change (cleared when the headset is disconnected) the Sound and vibration shortcut under volume buttons can be used to change Audio will play on phone/device.

Does this work for you the way other posters said it worked for them?

I went back and looked at my old phone. It does not have the option to turn call off either for that speaker. I kind of remember going through this with it just cant remember what I did to stop calls and messages.

By chance, and this may be out of left field, but have you tried the work around, mentioned twice now, that appears to give you these settings back based on a testimonial account by another user?
