No push notifications after aug 2018 update, google pixel 2

After the last update I did a couple days ago around 8/10/18, I don't get any notifications - audio or visual - for anything: email, text, social media, news, or calendar events. I've verified sound is up, notifications are on, do not disturb is set only for during the night, etc.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

Make sure your Gmail app is set up properly. I seem to get notifications from my phone and my PC at just about the same moment (they're both set to Push).
