"No Recently Used Apps" problem

[Android Central Question]

when I press the recent apps button on my Samsung S5, I get the message "No Recently Used Apps," even though I have recently used several apps.
does anyone know how to fix it ?

Try clearing clearing cache recovery , let me know how that goes , otherwise we can try more steps.

For some time before one of my phones - not a Samsung - failed, Recents had stopped working, though there may have been no connection. It may not be the same as your problem, but bear it in mind perhaps.
