No ringer on BT

Hey all,

When connected to my car, 2017 Subaru, out going and in coming call quality is great, the issue I am having is no ringer on either incoming or outgoing.

I know a call is coming in as the music is cut and on the dash I see the caller but no ringer, same for outgoing

Patched to Jan, issue started right after the update

Have you tried removing the device profile from your car and removing the car profile from your device and re-pairing?

I have the exact same issue, no audible ring when I'm connected to my car, headphones, or an external speaker phone. I've deleted and re-paired devices and it doesn't fix it.

I wonder if it is the phone app. Mine started doing this in December and I noticed there was an update to Google phone in mid December. Hopefully it is addressed in an update, whether it is the app or a system update.

I'm still stuck with the one dated December 14, 2017. There are no updates available when I check the Google Play Store.

Yes, mine is still on the Dec 2017 version as well

Today I uninstalled the Phone app (Dec 2017), checked the version and it was still Dec 2017 and then installed updates, still at Dec 2017

On my way home from work, called my wife, no ringer. 10 mins later I called my brother, ringer, loud and clear. First time in weeks. Will try again tomorrow

Yeah, I don't understand how this works. If an update is available for one person you'd think it would show up for anyone else that checks for application updates in the Google Play Store (I have automatic updates turned off).

I had this problem when calling from my car via Bluetooth. What fixed it for me was when the call should've been ringing to just press my volume up button on my phone. Not sure if this will help, but it's what worked for me.

You are spot on... Today I started a call from my car and indeed there is a Bluetooth volume which was nearly zero, once I increased the volume the ringer is there now

Yes still on the Dec version of the phone app

I'm a happy camper now
