No Ringtones through BT headset

I've noticed my ringtones don't play through my BT headsets (numerous LG sets), instead of assigned ringtones that let me know who is calling without looking at my phone, I get a standardized ringtone. This happens on any headset I pair and even happens in my car. My IP played whatever ringer I have assigned as did my older Android phones.
Anyone else have this issue or have a workaround for this?
