No Root 7.893 Webtop

So i updated to 5.7.893 and it works really great - i'm loving my phone now. only thing is eventhough the webtop app is installed and the icon launch is as it was, the hd dock no longer gives the webtop option in the pop up menu.

Now i read that rooted people went through a process that helped keep webtop after updating, but what solution is there for unrooted? or do i have to wait for the next leaked build etc.

Just curious because honestly, the phone is working so good now, i can live without webtop for a while till i get a newer leak or official release.

I see you're not really getting any responses here... I'm not positive but I think if you follow the instructions at the beginning of this thread it should get you there

Yes you need root because you need to use CWR to flash the webtop hack. Although you only need to use stock recovery to flash that first file... Idk read through and try it out see if that will fix it for you.

actually, i did some experimenting of my own. I took the comined update file to go straight from 5.5.886 to 5.7.893 and instead of flashing back to stock, i just jumped in on the sd card and installed it. It went through and now i have everything working as before and i have webtop, so i'm not quite sure why they were saying that you have to bounce back to stock before using the suggested file with the expection of the root arena. I don't have root and don't want to do it. but i did what i said above and everything is working fine. I'm not sure it will work for everyone but hopefully other people realize that if not intersted in keeping root etc, you can do it without flashing because that way you don't reset the phone.
