No S-Pen integration for the Fold 5

You are correct, but I was just talking about in the modern era. There were bigger reasons to not buy Samsung back then lol. I'm looking at you, TouchWiz.
I've been using Nova so long Samsung's operating system has never been a issue for me.

I will say Samsung's launcher is better now

Same, but the launcher is only one part of the system experience.

It always used to annoy me when people would say "just use a launcher". I DO use a launcher, but I don't just sit there all day staring at my home screen. But to be fair, most stock systems were pretty awful back then, that's why rooting was so important to me.

I forget about rooting now days as it's not needed now. I remember we had to root the phone just to screen shot.

Or just to backup the most basic piecce of app data. It was fun at the time, but I'm glad it's not necessary anymore. One of the big reasons I've stuck with Samsung is that things like GoodLock remind me of things like xposed framework, SmartSwitch of Titanium backup... It's like being rooted without all the hassle. Pixels feel so basic and restrictive by comparison... if you can keep one running long enough to find that out hahaha.

The low trade in will definitely be a no for me. The $1,000 trade in on previous year fold barely made it feasible to do, that's still $700+ to trade in year.

I agree
Tell you the truth I'm fine on the Fold 4 , I have the s23u with built in Spen.

THe problem is it would be unusably massive and heavy.

For years, I've wished that Samsung would offer a variant of the S Ultra series and now the Fold that is thicker but has more "stuff" in it: integrated S-Pen for the Fold, bring back the headphone jack with a high-quality DAC, bring back expandable storage, and increase battery capacity. Add a SKU for the Fold and one for the S series that would exist alongside the Ultra and call it the Pro version. I'd snatch up such a phone without hesitation. Portability does not have to equal pocketability, especially with the Fold, which one could argue should never go in a pocket due to lack of dust resistance and pocket lint.

I'm upgrading to the F5 for sure...

I've been overly impressed with the camera improvements on the S23U and am assuming that those same improvements will be carried over to F5.

Plus Samsung's improvement in software, Bixby, etc have really been understated in some reviews.

More shocking for me, is that I'll probably pass on the pixel fold. Sammy's cameras are catching up to pixels point n shoot capabilities....

Really want the integrated S-pen in a Fold. I almost bought the Fold 4 last year, but I need a dust- resistant phone. I'm in gyms all day long, and there's always chalk dust on my phone. A dust-resistant Fold 5 might get me to pick one up this year.

Definitely want the pen, though. I'm still hanging on to my Note 20U.

I think I remember my S8 having no SD card. Then it was back on my Note 9... I went Note 9 to Note 20 Ultra, so I didn't miss it on the Note 10. Then, with the S22 Ultra and now S23 Ultra, I went 512 GB. With my cloud storage, I don't miss it as much as I thought I would.
I'm getting ready to order a USB C card reader tonight, just to offload camera images, and move them to Google Photos albums when we are on vacation.

It was the last and the first to lose it. Note 20U was the last flagship I think, But the Note 10 was the first to lose it. I member saying at the time that it was Sammy dipping a toe in the water to see if they could finally get away with removing it from all flagships and getting a little roasted. But me gloating about being correct isn't really relevant lol.

I had and loved my Note 10. It did have a card slot. Had a 200gb card in it. I absolutely love my Z Fold 4 and really don't feel the need to buy the 5. I sis have the 3 and upgraded to the 4 for a better camera.

You must have had a Note 10+ rather than a Note 10. The Plus did have a microSFD slot. That's why none of the Note frogs realised their pot was coming to a boil lol.

You are assuming Samsung will bring 200MP to the F5? I highly doubt that.. if anything they will upgrade it to 108MP and that's a stretch because this is the first time Samsung upgraded the camera system in the Fold series.

It has been on 12MP (main camera) ever since it was launched up until the F4. I'm hoping they improve the UDC for the F5... hardly anyone seems to discuss that.
