No self-BCC on Gmail App?!

Hey guys,

Sorry for another post, as I am coming from an iPhone and have lots of questions.

Is there no way to automatically BCC myself on the stock GMAIL app? My company uses GMAIL as our emails service and the app has been working flawlessly so far. I absolutely need to BCC myself on every email to keep organized.

Please tell me there is a way to automatically BCC myself on every email rather than having to enter it every single time..

To my knowledge there is no way to do this short of a third party extension. Out of curiosity why would you want to do this when a copy is saved in your sent folder?

Bah. I receive any where from 100-300 emails a day, most of which need to be actioned within the day or next. By BCC myself I can tell what I have responded to in my inbox using the thread mode. Otherwise I forget what I have responded to or didn't when I get back to my office after a day of traveling.

My Mac doesn't show the sent messages in the thread mode, only what is in my inbox.

Hello, I see that you run into the exactly same problem as mine.

I searched Gmail-Auto-BCC for a while, then I found a browser extension which gave me great experience using it. It's the best addon for auto Bcc on Google mail, got a bunch of extra features: set up multiple Bcc addresses for multiple Gmail accounts, pop out reply/forward mail, maximize compose form...

If you found yourself repeatly doing these actions, especially in CRM email system, you might need a browser extension to help you out. I found a great one, using it for a while now. Have not tried this yet but this was posted on another forum on way to "trick" gmail into sending an automatic cc back to your email of all emails you send every time you send an email. Perhaps it will also help someone.

Here's a simple solution which works with free Gmail as well. It uses the fact that Gmail filters also work on sent email as well as incoming mail (despite what it says on the filter set-up page about filtering incoming mail).

Under your Gmail Settings, set up a forwarding address to the address you want to BCC to.

Then set up a filter which detects all emails which have your own address in the From field, and then tick the appropriate box to forward mail to the forwarding address you already set up.

Easy.

Jeremy - to make sure I am doing this right. Under forwarding settings do I have forwarding disabled or on? And if its on does the filter override the forwarding of ALL mail?

I am trying to BCC someone in my team on every e-mail I send.

It doesn't matter what your general setting for forwarding is, this is unrelated. He means for you to click the "Add Forwarding Address" button there. Then create a filter that matches "from:me" (yes you can just say "me") and the action is "Forward to " and select the address you've added."

Also, someone asked why want to bcc if in sent folder. I don't work for a company - have two of my own businesses - hosted with different companies - for business emails have as POP3 on both Microsoft Outlook on laptop and on phone so that if account hacked and have to close email and open another, I will still have the emails on both devices so if want to see email from someone dealt with a year ago I can whether or not I have laptop with me - always have phone. Even if can leave hacked account "alive" not sure would want to even if though would have to create a new business email account. And if close account, sure company hosting website would take emails off its server - then "poof" emails no longer anywhere.And if want to move companies hosting acct not sure i f new hosting company can get emails that were on former hosting company's server. I will have my gmail as IMAP on my phone (so does not use up internal flash storage) but will still have as pop3 on laptop so server will still not be synching with laptop so still need the emails sent from phone cc'd to laptop as incoming emails.
