No smart reply suggestions

With the Pixel 3XL I am not getting smart reply suggestions in Android messages. Anybody else experiencing this?

In fact, I no longer see smart reply suggestions in settings.

Interesting. So maybe it is not a pixel 3 issue but an Android message app issue. Maybe it lost that functionality with the latest update on October 19. The rep at Google said it was not available on Pixel3 which I found that impossible to believe.

Read a thread about this on Google's own Pixel support forum. Messages team said they are working on it and the feature will be back soon.

Yeah they removed the feature, but should be back soon.

I wish my pixel had some "smart" suggestions, all it ever gives me is standard boring suggestions.......it needs a little more personality ;-)

I find it to be pretty useful... missing it on my P2XL as well , used it all the time...

Lol no. It was just smart replies from Messenger. I just didn't have to type any answers or even questions because it was that good. I'm impressed.

It is a nice feature..... overall I'm liking the changes to Android. I do seem to hear Pie getting bashed alot though. Personally I like it and the new features coming down the pipe to the older pixels.

I have to admit though when I first started using marshmallow I hated it on my device..... super buggy and very frustrating to use..... I bashed it big-time lol.

It just gets harder and harder to satisfy people. It's certainly impossible to satisfy everyone all the time. You could argue that it's a sign of a well-matured platform -- people have to find more and more minutiae to be upset about.

I saw this on the first few day after getting the P3 XL. Lately for some reason, I haven't seen it.
