no software update for s5 active

hi,

So everyone that has an s5 or active all have the new software update for the s5/active which is the marshmellow update and im the only one that doesnt have it.

My current software is 4.4.4 (Kitkat I think)

My data carrier is cricket btw.

Do any of you know why it's not updating?

Welcome to Android Central! I moved this from the KitKat forum to the S5 Active forum, for more specific traffic.

You're not getting any official updates because the phone has to be on the original carrier's network to get them. Since the S5 Active was an AT&T exclusive, you'd have to get on AT&T's network. If it's important to you, you could consider buying a prepaid plan from AT&T for one month.

Hi, my dad's carrier is AT&T, do you know if I swapped the SIM card it would work?

It's worth a try! Which phone does he have? You need to make sure the SIM will fit in your phone. The S5 Active takes a microSIM, and most current phones take a nanoSIM, so you'd need an adapter to make it fit (which are cheap to get from Amazon or eBay).
