No sound for SMS

Hello,

My Galaxy S4 isn't currently making sound when I get a SMS, it only vibrates.
Although:
Setting > My Device > Sound > Default notification sound has "Pure bell" * selected.
Messaing > Settings > "Notification settings" > Select ringtone has "Pure bell" * selected.
Notification volume is set to maximum.
Sound and vibration are activated.

* "Pure bell" is one of the phone initial sounds.

A few apps that are that I have install that may have anything to do with notification sound (but I'm not even sure about it):
- Silent Toggle Widget
- K-9 Mail
- Aquamail (paid version)
- Skype

How could I solve this ?

Same problem. Sound notifications worked for a while after a restart, but are silent again now - vibration only. All settings to enable sound are as they should be. Have tried setting the SMS sound both to "Default" or custom sound with no success..

Are you using the built-in messaging app tho? Have you ever installed any 3rd party sms app and used it for awhile? And if yes and decided to go back with built in app check the settings again and make sure you have uninstall the sms app and restart your phone it should work. It happened to me! Hope it helps

well i had the same issue and here is what happened to me....

i downloaded Go sms ( way better then stock sms app) still had no sound

i read up a bit more and then checked my "blocking mode" it was my blocking mode that was causing my sound not to work on text so check your blocking mode ppl GL

I have this issue, and for me it is Llama causing issue. If I install Go SMS, this manages my sounds so is a sort of work around, but not ideal, because then I don't get notification on lock screen!.

I am having the same problem. The cause is a sound profile app that I have. Whenever I change my sound profile using the app, the SMS notifications stop. When I restart my phone, the SMS notifications start again. I have stopped using the sound profile app. Let me know if that helps.
