Anyone have any ideas why? Today - my dialpad and my keyboard don't have any audible sounds - yet they're turned on - and my power control widget is not set to vibe or silent.

Anyone? This is making me crazy - even uninstalled my power control widget with no luck.

Try turning the setting off, power cycling the phone, turning it on, and cycling again.

That didn't work - but I'll post what did that fixed it.

I downloaded Audio Manager (Free) just to see what all the volume levels were at - turns out the "system" volume was at zero and everything else was fine. The problem is there's no "system" volume setting that I'm aware of under the normal settings menus. When I turned it up with audio manager the keypad and dialpad sounds returned.

I think it has something to do with the slide to unlock/slide to silence lock screen stuff as I did accidentally slide the silence toggle the other day but figured when I slid it again it was fine. Silly me.

Oh yeah, I've seen that in Setting Profiles... I hate when stuff like that happens and there's no built-in way for the user to fix it.

Thank you SO much for finding a fix!!! I just discovered this, and it was driving me crazy! I know it happened after installed the cVolume app (from the market). It really screwed it up, even after uninstalling it! Thanks again!!

Wow thats awesome I've been going crazy for about 3 weeks trying to figure out why all my sounds stopped working thank you so much!

audio manager fixed my low (no) audio feedback when using the dialpad on my bionic. thanks for mentioning the app!

I had this problem, too. Under Settings > Volume make sure the "Touch feedback & system" volume is turned up. I turned it off (all the way down), thinking it'd stop that annoying feedback vibration. Turns out, there is another setting for feedback vibration and turning the "Touch feedback and system" volume down also turns down the system volume.
