No spoken directions in maps

Just got a head unit installed in my car with AA (Pioneer AVH-4200NEX) and using my Nexus 5x on Android O beta. For some reason maps will not read me directions. I have it on unmuted but no luck.

Any ideas?

Someone mentioned in the forums that Auto wasn't working properly with Android O... might that be why? Do spoken directions work when you're not connected to the unit?

Yeah that poster said it wouldn't work at all. Everything works fine except this. It works when not connected to the car.

I was the one who reported that AA didn't work at all on O. In my case the car didn't see the phone. I was able to make a bluetooth connection by going through a series of manual steps and then explicitly marking the car as a trusted device. It sounds like you've gotten farther with AA then I did. To get voice you need a Bluetooth connection, make sure that you have Bluetooth working, it might not have been set up correctly.

I've dropped back to 7.1.2. AA is absolutely critical to me so I'm going to hold off on O for another month before I try it a again.

I just re-paired the blue tooth and nothing. I suppose I can try jumping back to 7.1.2 to see if O if causing the problems but everything else about O is great so I hate to revert back.
