"No Storage Area Found" alert

I keep getting an alert that says "No Storage Area Found - Check the device storage settings". This in spite of having a 250GB SD card in which shows up under settings. I have no problems saving to the SD Card or getting stuff from it.

This only showed up after I did the system update last week. We tried reformatting the SD card last night but it doesn't seem to have helped.

Any advice?

Re: "No Storage Area Found" alert

Welcome to the forums. I would try turning the phone off, removing the card, and turning the phone back on. Once booted, try inserting the card. If it reads it, have the phone format it.

Re: "No Storage Area Found" alert

Thanks. Tried during lunch but it didn't work. For some reason I am not being offered an option for format the card (looking under Settings | storage| SD card.

I can unmount the card or delete it but there's no option to format.

Tried turning off the phone, removing the sd card, turning the phone back on, then turning off the phone, putting the SD card back in, then turning the phone back on. Still no option to reformat, all it accomplished was my having to redownload my podcasts.

Re: "No Storage Area Found" alert

Sorry...simultaneously answering another thread about SD cards. I got this one confused with the other. Have you tried formatting in a PC? I think Android's preferred format is NTFS.

"I think Android's preferred format is NTFS. "
Nope. That's for windows. Use Fat32 or Exfat for Android.

There may be some android devices that support NTFS but I don't recall any.

Re: "No Storage Area Found" alert

Same here, did a Verizon update today ( 3/29 ) and afterwards getting same No Storage Area Found. Called VZ and LG and neither had anything to add or resolve the message. I can store to the SD, look at data, etc.

Re: "No Storage Area Found" alert

Just a heads up - I've had problems with pauses in audiofiles (audiobooks, music AND podcasts) stored on my card ever since I started having the issue. Today I got an error message saying that my SD card was corrupted and needed reformatting, which of course meant re-downloading everything. And even though I told it to reformat it still didn't give me a choice on which format to use.

My next step is to go to the Verizon store and talk to their tech support, but that can't happen until this weekend at the earliest.

Re: "No Storage Area Found" alert

I believe this is a Spotify upgrade problem. Uninstall spotify and reinstall.
