No text pop up

I get my Marquee Sunday!! I have noticed all my friends with smartphones get the text message as a pop up on the home screen when it comes in. I do not want anyone reading my text's, especially at work. Is there a way (or an app) that will tell me I have a new text from ... but not show that text to the world? One of the reasons I loved my Lotus!

not sure what you mean, but that sounds like an Android question in general, not something specific to the Marquee.

Android handles texts by showing a notification in the top bar, followed by briefly scrolling through at least the beginning of it. You can really only read it if you are looking at it, its not exactly a "pop up". Is that what you are describing?

handcent gives you an option to pop up the txt, but the stock rom works exactly as dishe described.
