No Verizon branding on the Galaxy Nexus?

The updated pictures on Google.com/Nexus show the phone with Google branding and a slightly darker color scheme. In the getting started video there is clearly a Verizon logo but the pictures show Google branding.

I think a lot is still to be decided.

Nothings official, until it's in your hands...

IMO it would be virtually impossible for the GN on VZ to come out with no VZ branding.

Sadly, I don't think the GSM door will fit. The Verizon version is thicker, and I highly doubt that the front half of the phone is the thicker part, I believe it is the back half. I can kind of see it in the pictures. The "hump" on the bottom back seems less pronounced in the Verizon version.

I wonder if I can buy an OEM GSM cover and put it on the back instead of the verizon one.

if they have a verizon logo, i'm putting a different sticker there. I don't need verizon to tell me, i'm on verizon. I know that from my bill.

Who cares? Seriously. Are the internals the same? Am I still going to be able to flash ROMs? Yes. I'll simply be happy to have it. I can deal with it having the word Verizon on it, especially since it'll be on the back and the back is going to be covered by my palm while I'm holding it. People will complain about anything.

Some just like the "clean" look. Like people who debadge their cars. Just a preference.

I personally would prefer no branding, but doesn't really matter.

QFT

Some people are just complainers. Yes it's a nexus phone, it would be nice if it wasn't there at all, but it's a Verizon Nexus phone. If that means they have to have a small logo on the back on a replaceable part, so be it. At least it's not plastered on the front screen like any other Verizon phone would be. I'm sure they wanted it there but Google/Samsung probably fought it. The back is a good compromise. Just be happy we're getting this phone.

I don't like it but, at least it's on the back, like some have mentioned. I'm thinking that Verizon had to pay Samsung to put their logo on there. Technically the only logo that should be on the phone is Samsung.

I just had my company logo registered and, it's a big deal. It took several months and, there was a lot of legal stuff to look over. I can't imagine all the crap Verizon, Google and Samsung go through when deciding what to put on their phones.

True story. Verizon couldnt just let us have this one.

Ill be first in line to order a Gsm battery door if they fit properly

I find it funny, VZW obviously offers you service that you find better than other carriers and will carry a phone that you really want and you are so petty that they have there branding on the device that you will go out of your way to remove the VZW logo? I guess I don't get why. Why not give them their props and display that logo?

I thought it was just their LTE logo? I don't really care either way, I don't really notice these things...

I wonder if the back cover is interchangeable with a gsm replacement cover. More than likely not but given the form factor looks almost the same (except fora little thickness), it would be nice to have that option. I guess it also depends on the color of the device.

Otherwise, Verizon logos on the back don't bother me in the slightest. As long as the front is clean and logo free then I'm still game.

Aesthetics. They've already gotten their props via cash.

Not that I'm likely to change anything about mine unless it's really obnoxious, but I understand why.

I will probably put a sticker over it ,just cause I have a sticker lying around and I can :D

Two things.

My Nexus S 4G has no Sprint markings. You see the Sprint name on the screen as identification for the network you are connected to. That's it.

Also, the battery door contains the NFC chip on the Nexus. That makes the part expensive, but you want to be able to change it easily in case you need to invalidate the chip (if it's compromised).

There "should" be replacement covers with just the google symbol-maybe the canadian LTE GN will work.

Whoa man calm down. Like said above its aesthetics.. My preference, coming from every other Nexus phone, lies in a carrier unbranded phone. I pay a huge amount of money each month on Verizon, off contract as well, and i dont really care for them having free advertising on something i paid good money for.
