No video icon

[AC Question]

I have 2 Galaxy S7 edge , both with Sprint and i cannot make a video call . I got the latest software and video icon is not showing . Is it because of the carrier?

Welcome to Android Central! I don't think Sprint has video calling over its own network at this time. Video calling typically requires VoLTE (Voice over LTE), which Sprint doesn't think it will implement until 2017 at the earliest.

An alternative might be to use their Messaging Plus service.

Yeah, sprint doesn't have video calling yet. You have to use Google hangouts or skype (or other video apps) to make video calling. Remember though, the other person has to have the same video app for it to work.

Forgot about messaging plus app. But the other person has to use it too.

Yes its because of sprint. I have t mobile s7 edge and i have video call husband has sprint and diesn have it
