Hi Everyone,

I have two HTC Wildfire (A3335) phones in my possession and neither one can connect to a Wi-Fi network. I have even tried one of the phones on two completely different Wi-Fi networks, and it still couldn't connect to either! Whilst both phones see the Wi-Fi network, and both allow me to enter the password for the connection(s), the phones ultimately get stuck at the 'Obtaining IP address' phase. Basically neither can 'hand shake' with a network in order to get connected to the internet!

Has anybody else experienced this issue? If so were you able to remedy the situation?

Kind Regards,

Davo

Thanks for the reply mate. The phone isn't rooted, or modified in anyway...mores the pity! I actually need a Wi-Fi connection so that I can access the play store...as I don't intend on using this phone with a SIM at all!

Try an unsecured (open) wifi network. If that works, make sure any wifi you're trying to access is using AES encryption, not TKIP or TKIP+AES.

If not, you may be one of those few lucky people who got 2 bad phones at once.
