noise reduction: where is it?

I've noticed my samsung galaxy S8 uses a noise gate on the microphone. where is this setting.? I'm not talking about noise reduction when making calls, I mean just using the microphone in general. I've been trawling google but all the info I find is out of date and doesn't match up with the settings in my phone. I want to switch this noise reduction/noise gate off if possible. thanks for any pointers.

If I recall correctly, there are no settings on Samsung phones for noise reduction options like that. If that's what is active at that time, the only thing I can think of (and that's automatic) is for high-wind situations during audio recording (calls and/or video, for instance).

I don't know of a setting like that on any Samsung
