Nokia 6

I had a few Nokia Windows phones and really liked them. With Google abandoning the mid-range we'll have to look elsewhere. I like my 5X especially for what I paid for it. The Pixel just doesn't do it for me and there is no way in hell I'm going to drop almost $1000.00 on a phone. My next phone may be a Nokia or another Motorola. I just wish the manufacturers would come to grips with the security updates. They need to a better job of pushing patches.

Just re-read the link you posted and Nokia is promising timely security updates. If that happens Nokia just might get my money.

It certainly looks like the Nokia 6 will be trying to fill the hole left by the Nexus. Good specs and a tempting price tag.

The Moto G5 Plus is also looking good. It's very reasonably priced and unlocked. Motorola's commitment to security patches has been underwhelming though. I like what they're doing and they provide a fair amount of value but they need to step it up with the monthly patches. Of course it goes without saying that they aren't the only manufacturer that needs to improve in this area.

For me anyway, it may be the deciding factor an who gets my money. The Nokia does seem to check all the right boxes. Good sized battery, expandable storage, 32 gig of storage and 3 gig of ram.
