The 7 plus looks good!

Only 400 euros
6" IPS screen, 1080x2160
Zeiss optics: 12MP wide angle, 13MP telephoto (2x zoom); 16 MP front cam
Snapdragon 660
microSD slot (or dual SIM)
64GB/4GB,
Fingerprint reader on back
USB-C charging port
3800mAh battery
Headphone jack!! (unlike the 8 Sirocco..)

Release date: April 2018

Only downsides:

Slower CPU (but apparently only ~15% slower than a SD835)
Not waterproof
No wireless charging
Single speaker
No optical image stabilization
Subjective: I'd prefer the Nokia 6 shape

@Joe920 - you going to get one??
If it ends up coming to the USA and if the camera turns out to be excellent then it's definitely one of the few contenders.

Minimum requirements for me:
- great camera
- 128GB storage OR microSD expansion
- clean and secure OS with 'all the apps', so either iOS or pure android
- headphone jack

Those last two really limit the choices! iPhone and Pixel both dropped the headphone jack, so that leaves the few vendors that produce pure Android phones. The Essential phone ALSO dropped the headphone jack, and the camera wasn't great.

If I do end up replacing my iPhone 6S Plus it looks like it will be either the Nokia 7 Plus, maybe the iPhone SE 2 if it shows up with a headphone jack, or a used Pixel XL (1st gen) with 128GB.

Am I missing any contenders here? In the meantime I'm really looking forward to some camera samples.

The only other one would be the Moto X4?

But yeah, if this comes to the US im ordering. I've been waiting for the Nokia return since I had to leave Windows Phone.

I just noticed, looks like this one doesn't have OIS. That's one of the things that made night time imaging on the ole' Lumia 1020 so amazing.

If it's anything like the rest of the Nokia range it should be a world phone, so you could import one if it isn't sold in the US.

Amen to that! Miss my Lumia Icon. Not just any old US release but one that supports Verizon.

Hey if you gonna wish, wish big lmao!!

These new Nokia devices are world phones so I doubt that CDMA support is high on the list of priorities. Although it could be used on their LTE network.

anyone on the UK get one today? argos messed up my preorder so mine never arrived :(

mine turned up finally. still getting it set up but so farv I have noticed battery life is way better than my ageing Moto g4 plus (guess that's to be expected as the Moto was 2 years old and a smaller battery!!)

I walked into a local Argos this afternoon and picked one up. Just finished the setup and initial impressions are great. Excellent build quality and the 660 CPU flies compared to previous 6 series devices I've owned. Feels very similar to my Pixel 2XL but half the price!

Yeah so far I'm pleased. Does feel nice and solid in the hand. I did put the supplied case on but I don't really like it. I also added glass screen protector but it's a poor fit so I might try keeping the phone naked for a while. Seems a shame to cover it up!!!

I'm lucky as I get discount on Argos vouchers through my work. Plus Argos are giving a £10 voucher for certain purchase. That and the fact I'll probably sell the Google home mini means I got a bargain!

Please give your assessment after about 2 weeks of usage. I'm planning to get one at the end of the month. My car told me "NO" last week.

Well. I took the naff case and poor screen protector off and I'm loving the feel and quality. Battery life seems good. Getting on for 14h since charge with 58% left. Camera seems good but not had a chance to test properly. I see a difference between the standard lens and the 2x optical (in that zoomed pics seem brighter than the 1x. BUT - not properly tested )

Definitely smooth running but I don't game orr do anything particularly heavy so can't comment on that.

Oh and it has the old Nokia ringtones on it which I'm surprisingly happy about!

Not sure how this compares to other phones (as I only have an aging Moto g4 plus to compare to!) But below is current battery situation. It's been a long time since I didn't need to charge my phone before the end of the day. Let alone leave till the next day!!!

Same thing with my Nokia 8, lasts me almost 2 days on a single charge. My Nexus 5X never got anywhere close to the battery life I get from this phone.

My phone currently shows last charge 1d 2 hrs and 3 mins ago and with 67% remaining 2d 3hrs 21mins left ????????????

Yes, I know that the figure underneath the battery percentage is an estimate before people try to tell me that but the fact it even estimates two days is impressive.
