non silent notifications

I tried to put my email notifications on vibrate only. I silenced notifications in the general settings, I silenced the notifications in the gmail settings, and finally everywhere else I could find. Now I get a voice notification whenever I receive a phone call or a gmail. I just want the phone to ring and vibrate and the gmail to vibrate only. Anybody out there with any advice or suggestions?

If you're getting a spoken notification, you've probably turned on Talkback. Go to Settings / Accessibility and see if that's checked. If not, have you installed the Lightflow app?
