Anyone have suggestions for a car mount that clips onto my a/c vent? It's illegal in California to stick anything to your windshield and the way my car is, sticking anything to the dash seems to come off and the way my dash is it's not that convenient for me. Thanks!

Have you looked on our own site, ShopAndroid? I think they have car mounts, and if you like our site, a great way to support it.

I did. The only one I saw that doesn't suction or stick is the Nite Ize...but I'd like to hear feedback from people (or not since no one else replied lol)

If anything I think Walmart might have some. Not sure how they secure themselves. But the good thing is they could care less about the condition of the return.

i went with an iottie and used an adhesive disc to put on my dash since it was textured. absolutely love it. sell them on amazon. i looked forever to find a mount to put somewhere else that was easy to use 1 handed, all ports accessible, and can adjust to any angle, yet held the phone secure. definitely recommend looking at them. cheap and effective. my brother, dad, and i all have them in our trucks on the dash. by dash i mean about knee height on the angle so its out of the way and easy to reach the phone. we have 2010 silverados and put them just right of the ash tray

I use ProClips on all of my vehicles, my personal car, my work car, and my wife's car. They're pricey, but they're very high quality. They're two pieces, a dash mount and a device mount. This way if you change vehicles or devices, you just buy the part you need. If you like them on Facebook you'll see discounts offered and/or free shipping. For the Galaxy 5S with the Otterbox Commuter case, I used the Adjustable Holder with Tilt Swivel #875214 that I purchased for my Droid Razr Maxx and just bought a new dash mount: Adjustable Holder with Tilt Swivel*-*ProClip USA

If you have a CD and you rarely use it, I recommend Mountek. I love it and bought a few already for family & friends.

I have the new nGroove snap.

After looking for something similar and reading user reviews, i ordered the iOttie Easy One Touch XL . It claims to be strong enough to hold on dash board and it is fully adjustable, which is great.

I just received this yesterday .iKross 4-in-1 Universal Windshield / Dashboard / Sun Visor / Air Vent Car Mount Holder Kit - Black

I use the Mountek one as well and love it. If your CD player is up high enough this one can't be beat.

And I can still play my cd that is loaded, only have to take out if you want to change cd's. But I rarely ever play cd's, always mp3's

I have recently purchased the mini infiniapp magnetic suction cup mount. It is a suction cup mount that is made to work on dashboards that typical suction cups won't work on. It has a stick suction cup that forms a seal on your dash but when removed it doesn't leave any residue or anything on your dash. I was skeptical about it but I ordered it anyway and it works perfect. I have never been a fan of those discs they give you to stick to your dash so I prevously went wth a vent mount but that it ended up being a pain to take off and on and my vent would moved down due to the weight of the mount and phone.

Here is the link to the mount I purchased. Amazon.com: InfiniApps Ministand Suction Car Mount for Any Smartphones, Magnetic Cell Phone Mount with Quick Snap Technology: Cell Phones & Accessories

I'm surprised that Android Central doesn't sell this as it is a great mount for those that have dash boards with texture and traditional suction cups wont work.

I also love the fact that it is magnetic mount for then phone. I just get the phone close to the mount and it goes right on and when I am ready to take it off I just grab and go. So far the best mount I have used hands down.

Actually switched mine over to the vent mount today . Although in this picture the mount is upside down to the way it needs to be mounted . After thinking about it a bit the vent mount is a really good idea . I can keep the phone cool with the AC when I'm using the GPS .
