Hi guys, new android here, was a long time ios user. Noob question here: i rooted my stock gs3 (installed cwm recovery, superuser, etc.). That went fine, but then had issues installing cm10. It kept saying installation aborted. So I just rebooted my from from the main CWM menu. Now I am having trouble syncing with my google account! Can't log into the play store, sync contacts, or anything. Can anybody help? Any input on what I might have done wrong here? Please help! Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

By chance somewhere on the CM download Page was there a gapps download to flash in CWM after installing CM?

looks like you mixed the two roms and somehow corrupted the gapps, its happened to me before your best bet is if you have made a backup just restore it and then redownload CM10 and the latest gapps files, then you will be good to go, if you didnt make a back up you'll need to acquire the stock rom and follow through

I managed to find a stock ROM to reflash (I did make a nandroid backup before all this, except I'm not sure how to restore to that or how to get a more recent stock AT&T ROM, if anyone can point me in the right direction that would be helpful!). I got back to a stock ROM, dowloaded ROM manager and updated CWM and installed CM10 without a hitch (loving stock Jelly Bean without all the samsung and AT&T bloatware!). However, since installing CM10, I noticed that I seem to not be able to connect to 4G LTE (or at least not that I can tell). On the reception bars, I usually see either "3G" or "H" or "H+", but no "4G LTE" like I did pre-flashing on my stock GS3. I also seem to have poor reception. I am tempted to restore from my nandroid backup and give this rooting/flashing ROM business another try, but done the proper way, not the way I did it the first time. I also did find a gapps file through ROM manager. Thanks again for all the great answers and advice!

Longtime iOS user as well and this is my first ROM flash. :-)

I'm in the same boat, I do believe. Although, the flashing went great and everything seems to work, just not getting the symbol saying 4G LTE. Is there one? I ran speedtest.net and it seemed as fast as before I flashed. Can anyone confirm what CM10 displays when connected to 4G LTE?

Thanks!

Edit: After doing some research, I was misinformed by AT&T. Stock ROM shows 4G, although it is not actually 4G rather H+. But that's a whole other thread...

should display E, 3G, H, H+, 4G.

it should be fine. if you dont trust it still, run speedtest.net

remember that LTE isnt available everywhere yet too

Thanks for all the answers guys! As an update, I ended up flashing a stock rom to my phone. I did run speed test a few times and the speed appears to be just as fast before my while rooting/flashing adventure. Im just not seeing "4G LTE" like I did before. Maybe it was a glitch that I was seeing it before? Or it could be my OCD lol. Im not sure. At the very least im hoping when the official JB gets released it'll fix the issue. Thanks again for all the replies!

The guy above just answered your question. 4G on the rom is LTE

should display E, 3G, H, H+, 4G.
