Noob question about Pixel text ringtone

Hi I need some help with my mum's phone, her last phone had a repeating ring tone when she received text messages, so it literally would keep beeping all day until she noticed it and read the message. She needs this again. I can not find hardly any options for text messages on this phone and I am not familiar with apps. Can someone please tell me how to turn on an option like this or if I do need an 'app' can someone recommend one please?

Welcome to the forums. You will probably need an SMS app that has a repeating notification feature. I just checked on my Pixel, and there is no stock setting to do this in either general settings, or in the stock SMS app. Textra has no option for this either.

I can't believe I missed that. Oops. Sorry, OP. Given that it is in the Textra app, Menu>settings>customize notifications. There, you will see several sections. Under notification style, the last heading is repeat notifications. That's when you get the screenshot thunderup provided.

Yes, Textra is very good and very customizable. Been using it for years. I just happened to click on this thread and thought I had remembered seeing repeat notifications in Textra even though I don't use that feature. Hope it works for your needs @pippy900!
