Quick question... This is my first Droid. Is there not a way to organize bookmarks from within the browser? I can't figure anything out. Seems like a way basic thing I could do even on my old curve. Anyone know what I'm missing? Or can this just not be done? Thanks for any help guys!

Open up the internet, select bookmarks, then press the menu button again and you can then sort by newest, mostly used or Alphabetical.

I hope this helps..

Thanks for the reply, but what I meant was that I want to create folders to put bookmarks in them. Like a news folder for news sites; sports folder for sports sites, shopping folder for shopping sites, etc., etc. Just like you do for your computer's browser and like I could do with opera mini on my old BB Curve. Is that not possible? I still can't figure it out... :(

try out folder organizer. not positive if it can make folders of bookmarks but it might able to.

A work around is to create a folder on your home screen and name it Favorites. Then create shortcuts to each of the bookmarks and drag the book marks into that Favorites folder.

When I asked this question about being able to sort/organize my shortcuts on a Moto Xoom, the suggestion was to load Chrome on your desktop, organize your shortcuts on that, then select to ?sync shortcuts with Chrome? on the mobile device.

I never tried it because it was too much hassle to dink with installing chrome just for that, but you could try it and see.

Personally, I agree that there should be some more robust shortcut management capabilities built into the stock browser.

I'm new to android and I'm pretty disappointed in the stock browser. I would love to be able to use the Firefox browser but that doesn't support Flash.

Yeah that's quite an oversight. Under bookmarks we should be able to set up folders to organize bookmarks. I had planned to make a lot of bookmarks. Now it seems like a big pain. Are any other browsers as good as the stock one? Thanks for all the replies. I'm about to make another thread on another issue I'm having. Thanks all. :)

I prefer xScope but I'm probably in the majority with that.

Opera is a pretty good browser with folder support in bookmarks. To might want to try another browser and see how it goes.

its always the little things. i dont know how many times i said "but this was a basic function on my old phone" when i first got my Blackberry. (first smartphone) its disheartening to hear "theres an app" or "theres a workaround" for stuff you've come to expect as standard.

Remember, Android is still young and there's still plenty of room for growth. Send some feedback and express your thoughts to Google and see if it pushes them to update the browser to implement missing functions.

seems like they should just track popular apps to see what people want/need and then implement that into the OS.
