Sorry if this has been covered already, I tried searching but couldn't find exactly what I was looking for.

Is the Nook Color powerful enough to have smooth video playback in Flash? Actually curious for both Honeycomb and Froyo.

I'm basically looking for the ability to watch videos at 60minutes.com, etc.

I don't think so, at least it can't right now.

I've tried a few basic youtube videos and it's very choppy, even oc'ed.

Note that the DSP hardware acceleration hasn't been enabled for either Froyo or Honeycomb. If they do, we should be able to get smooth video playback.

Thought, I read on the XDA Site that the nook DSP is pretty limited, can only do 854x480@1100kbps.

I'd like to know more about this too since I haven't been able to find many details about the DSP or the chances it can be enabled.

Regards,

Mike

Mike,

Thanks for the response. After reading that hardware acceleration not working on XDA I was afraid of that.

Everything I found seemed to be mixed about the video playback. However my gut told me it wouldn't be great.

It looks like I may wait a while and see if DSP is ever enabled.
