nook touch questions

i'm thinking about getting a nook touch instead of another ipod touch[had one, it fritzed out in the warranty time frame and i returned it]. the main thing i didn't like about the ipod was that while youtube videos were supported, no other website's videos were. so i couldn't watch shows on hulu, tv-dome.net or ch131.com, all of which i use a ton. am i correct in my understanding that the flash support on the nook color would allow me to use those sites? also, could the new amazon cloud player be used on it, or would that require rooting it?

There are multiple ways you can open up the nook to do everything you want and reading through the developer forums you can see a lot of people have had good success with Hulu and netflix but I have no personal knowledge of that stuff as I'm not interested in streaming TV.

i've tried reading through things like that in the past, and i usually have trouble with the installation instructions. i'm so afraid i'll get halfway through and then not be able to finish it. so what i'm really looking to find out is if it will do it without my having to void the warranty by messing with the software myself.

Nook was updated to Froyo (Android2.2) and it has now flash support, so yes, you can watch videos other than youtube. I watch online videos all the time (Hulu, CBS, etc.) You don't need to root your Nook to do this. Now with the Amazon cloud, that's another story. You need Amazon mp3 player and Kindle being Nook's rival, I don't see this happening anytime soon in a official way. You can hack it, though. Once you root you can basically run any app that Android 2.2 supports.
