Nookie running Froyo off SD card - Nookie reports blank SD card

Just as title states, been running Froyo off SD card for awhile now. Today I get an error on my task bar stating SD Card Blank. If clicking on error msg it wants to reformat the SD card. Any ideas on what has happened? Everything seems to be running/working fine so far?

I can't download anything such as apk's from web either because it says "An SD card is require to download file name here.
