Normal RAM Usage without Open Apps

What's the normal RAM usage when you don't have any apps open, other than those running in the background (ie, after reboot or clearing memory in task manager).

I've read some people say that 4-500 mb is normal, but when I clear memory it drops to around that level, only to jump up to around 800 mb before I open any apps. I have the North American version (2gb) so there's still some breathing room there, but it seems to be quite excessive.

Thanks.

Mine sits around 780mb.

Hmm, well mines pretty much never in the 600s.

800+ after boot/memory clear
At least 950, normally over a gig if I just close all apps (using the trash can icon in the bottom right of task switcher).

Do you think I have some installed apps that are always running in the background eating up ram?

Possibly but honestly I wouldn't sweat it to much. There is no need for unused RAM as most would call it wasted RAM. That's the point of having 2GB.. No need to worry about memory. :)
