One of my gripes is wallpapers and tones on the Incredible. Man, they are just not as easy as on my BB. I could go to crackberry, browse the forums for the media, email it to the device, and be done. Seems here, I have to muddle through the app, or try to find something and dl it.

About one of the only things I miss from the BB community was the wealth of media for the device. It would be a great addition to androidcentral to have a dl section for media...

or am I missing something?

other than this I am thrilled with android from a once skeptical, will never take off believer!

eh its not bad i have a ton of music and just use ringdroid to make my own ringtones little easier than bb having to have someone with a program to make it for me

when i have a picture, i just long press/menu--> set as--> wallpaper/lockscreen--> adjust size.
Its not that different from most phones.

I prefer doing things myself as well, but I agree with geo that a DL section might be nice for those who are new or those who don't want to spend time making rintones or wallpapers.

What do you mean by "Long press/menu"? I tried this with a couple pictures and it does nothing. So I am not pressing something correctly.

I also have to agree, only 24 hours into using this device (Incredible) that finding ringtones and wallpapers is a pain in the ass. I can't even use pictures at their native size to fit the screen. Drives me nuts. I also do not want to take the time to make my own ringtones, and I am a gaming nerd and had some awesome tones on my BB Storm2 that I wish I could get onto this device. Hopefully there will be a dedicated d/L section like on Crackberry.com.

While viewing a photo: 1.) Long press on the photo itself and a menu will pop-up; or 2.) press menu.

OK cool. I see how that works. I misundestood ruff's post. I thought there was a way to use the native size of a picture instead of having to select an area and then have it blown up and zoomed in on.

Are you guys finding any good places for ringtones? I look more specifically for theme songs (TV/Movies/Video Games). If so, where at? Thanks for the reply Examiner.

I find that the wallpapers are a lot easier to get than with my old BB. I also DL a Wallpaper app that has TONS of pics to choose from. Now the Ringtones were a bit more complicated when I first started. That's also because a) I didn't have any music on my phone (unlike my BB) and b) I didn't like the app I had to sift through the music clips they had. I ended up getting Ringdroid and Malbilo and I couldn't be happier with how simple it is.

I've never used any music editors on my phone, nor have I ever put music on my phones.
Nothing will ever beat my iPod for music. That said, I've used "Audacity" to edit my own
music on my PC to my liking to a ringtone. All I do is save the file and e-mail it to
myself and put it in the proper folder using Astro File Manager. Or, I could just connect
the phone to a PC and drag and drop in the proper folder.

Your MP3/WAV/OGG files will copy over from your BB to your pc, then to your droid. This is WAY easier that my old BB. There is a learning curve and you need to unlearn what you know about BB.

Its new tech. Once you get used to it, you'll be screaming its praises high on the mountain top!

Yeah I have to agree with you on that. I had the bold 9650 for about 3 days and I was able to get so much stuff from crackberry's download section. I miss that part too. I love my droid but it would be a lot easier to have a download section here.

Goto the market tons of ringtone apps free and wallpaper apps free much easier than on my old Berry

I used to download whole movies from the media section on crackberry, is there somewhere where we can do the same for droid? I get my EVO tonight and want to download some movies.
