As far as I know I have it plugged in correctly. The led won't light and the charge is going down and not up. Anyone else?

Are you using the USB port or the actual AC charging port? The USB port on the Xoom can't be used for charging.

As I said, I followed all instructions...after screwing up with my Archos. Only hole it'll fit in and multiple outlets for the plug in case it was the other end.

I'd take it back to the store you got it with (with everything) and see if they can replicate the issue. If they can, it's most likely a defective port, and you should get a swap. (remember you get a new device in store if it's defective this soon)

You heard it here first...Best Buy Brentwood TN has other ones with wrong charger. Motorola sending me one overnight. Now I am going to look to see if there's one off-the-shelf that'll work.

Any chance of a pic of the bad one?

Can't now. On with them again. They can't send after all and Motorola cannot tell me the specs for what the Xoom requires. Best Buy has no other chargers Verizon has no chargers. Check before you leave any store!!

Might have been only my charger after all. It is definitely inoperable. They all are cheesy and ill-fitting. Motorola told me to go to Best Buy who had none. I said that is not an option so they are sending me one "overnight" in 2 business days. I guess that's Monday. Then I went to Verizon store. They had ONE car charger. Now it works fine. I just have to go drive around to charge. They refused to get me one out of a box at Verizon...fine...their business...but then they asked me for my 5 line Sprint business...and it costs more...I am WIFI only on March 25th.

I say go to VZW and tell them to replace their entire unit, not just a charger. You are a consumer, it's the law that they have to replace it if it's inoperable.

If that happened to me and if they were to refuse to change the unit, I would take that Xoom and shove it in their faces and mad them replace it. That's how I did with a defective Macbook Pro.

Except, if I understand him right, he did not get it from a Verizon store. They don't have a requirement to replace a unit purchased at Best Buy.

my charges on AC however, no LED

I think the LED only comes on when the Xoom is powered off. I had the sales rep at VZW power it off after he activated it and it sat in the box all day while I was at work. I got home last night and plugged it in and the LED came on (white) and turned green after a couple of hours. I then unplugged it and turned it on and used it for an hour or so. I plugged it in while it was still powered on and....no LED.

Saw one review where they said the Xoom could be trickle charged using the USB but not powered by it (One of the demonstrators at Mobile World Congress). Was this just erroneous nonsense or is this a viable back up charging method with the Xoom powered down or in standby if caught without the charger?
