Not Getting 4G or 3G speeds on MT4G

I am going crazy because a co-worker bought the G2X and while we are in the same office, he is getting 3G/4G data speeds while my MT4G switches between Edge and 3G. He is getting 6M down and 3Mg up while I am only getting 0.1 down and 0.17 up. Does anyone know why this is so? We are both on TMO network it just doesn't make sense. I call TMO and they said they will troubleshoot the area.

Are you rooted with s-off by chance? If you are you can try flashing a new radio

Mine is not rooted.

SIM? I know I've had older SIM cards totally throw off my network connection, especially so in my MyTouch which was my first 4G phone.

You never know, stranger things.

I had my SIM replaced. However, I am still getting low speeds. What else can I check?

I just put the G2X back on Craigslist for doing what you said your MyTouch is doing.
Poor to no cell/data in two key areas.

I went back to the MyTouch 4G, it works just fine.

I'll wait on the Sensation, Galaxy S II, or the next Nexus.

EDIT: Try doing a factory data reset, that may fix your problem.

I went back to the MyTouch 4G, it works just fine.

I'll wait on the Sensation, Galaxy S II, or the next Nexus.

I gave up on this. I will just wait for MTG4 update or move on to a new phone in fall. I am hoping TMO gets some variant of the Galaxy S2.
