Two Motorola edge plus phones. Android 15.

Trying to transfer 11 gigabytes of data.

My primary phone has SIM card backup doesn't.

Cannot transfer either direction from secondary phone to PC or back.

Tried USB between phones directly. No success

Finally trying quick share. It won't let me send over 2 GB even though there isn't supposed to be a limit. This is over Wi-Fi in my house.

Should be simple but is impossible I guess.

Very frustrated. For years I've transfered data from my phones to my PC and SSD backups without any difficulty. I don't know why now.

The phones are identical except for no SIM card in the UKyl secondary phone.

Any help is much appreciated. Thank you

Can you describe in more detail what happens if you try to connect the secondary phone to your PC via USB? That still ought to allow you to move data from the phone to the PC. If the phone isn't showing up on the PC, then make sure to swipe down the notification panel and look for a USB notification. Tap that and make sure it's set to File Transfer or MTP.

I connect the USB cable. The connection shows it's charging the phone.

But, in settings, under USB .. see the attached attachments, it won't let me choose anything. Tapping a choice won't select anything.

I even tried a couple of new USB cables and the same thing. Charging phone, nothing else.

Is the secondary phone brand new? I would wonder if there's a problem with the USB port -- perhaps the data transfer contacts are dirty or faulty. Try cleaning the contacts using rubbing alcohol and a toothbrush.

Thank you. I'll try that. But it charges with the port.

I don't understand why I can't use Quick Share and send over a GB at a time, either, from phone to phone. It does send data literally instantly. It just won't send it all once.

I'll try to clean the port .
Thanks

Right, but charging contacts are different from data transfer contacts. If one of the contacts needed for data transfer is affected, that can render the port unable to do anything besides charge.
Well, get BIGGER hats. Your head should enlarge

That fixed it. I just never experienced that, before.

I've got to read and try to figure out the Quickshare. It's much faster than the cable.. It's not unlimited as I read.

But, B. Diddy, you're a Great Help. Thank you for sharing your time and expertise and patience
