Not getting app update notifications.

I recently received a replacement phone from Verizon for my S6 Edge. On my old S6 Edge I had it set to do manual app updates from the Play Store but I always received notifications that updates were available.

On this replacement phone I have it also set for manual app updates but now I do not get notifications that updates are available. What am I missing? I want the notifications so I know when updates are available.

In the Play Store settings, is the option for app update notifications checked on? There are separate options for the automatic updating itself and the notifications. Even when notifications are turned on, they don't always appear right away, in my experience.

yes, that box is checked.

How long are you waiting for the notifications to appear?

Also, go to Settings>Data Usage, and make sure Restrict Background Data isn't turned on, either universally or for Google Play Store or Google Play Services individually.

In the App Manager, select Google Play Store and Google Play Services, and make sure Notifications are turned on for both.

That was it! In my applications manager the Play Store had notifications turned off! Thanks for the help!
