not receiving multimedia text messages when connected to WiFi

Can you help me I can receive text messages meaning multimedia text messages when connected through mobile data but for some reason I cannot receive them when connected to my WiFi. Does anyone have any ideas

You may have a setting that blocks mobile data while you're on WiFi..
Have a wander around in your settings, connections, and developer options..

I look at my settings I could not find anything that says allow mobile data while connected to WiFi. do you have the HTC u11 and what carrier are using on I'm on AT&T. I'm trying to figure it out I think it worked on 7.1.1 but of course I did a factory reset when I got the 8.0.

Did you look at the MMS settings in the Messages app itself? There are options regarding retrieval of your messages in there.

well I finally figured out for some reason keep mobile data on while on wifi or was for some reason in the developer options. this is really stupid that they are in there and not in the normal networking settings.
