Not receiving notifications S9

Hi - my phone has stopped giving my notifications in the status bar.

I've tried multiple things, data saver isn't on. The apps aren't asleep. I don't have it in easy mode. All the notification options for the apps are 'sound and popup'.

I downloaded Notification History Log and they all appear there. Just not in my status bar.

It does seem that the notifications wake up my screen but nothing appears.

Odd apps still do work, like Google photo's rediscover this day. Android version 9

So after again going through every setting and multiple online searches I found the solution to my problem.

Turned out it was an app 'Clean Master', supressing the notifications as far as I can see. I didn't fiddle with its settings I just uninstalled it and all my notifications are back.

Word of advice I think is in order.

Never ever install anything from Cheetah Mobile.
Your phone will thank you. Notorious for being bad news. Abusing permissions. Nastyware.
