not recognized by my blue ray player

Ok, so I recently made the leap from my HTC Amaze to a Note2. Both are completely stock (unrooted) phones. I use ttorrents regularly. I could simply attach my amaze, via usb cable, to the usb port on my blu ray player and my player would recognize my phone as a media device and I could watch my movies directly by this method. Now that im on a high speed high powered Note2 I cant? My blu ray tells me that an unsupported device is connected.. is there a setting or an app that will fix this?
