Not thrilled with camera, What am I missing????

Is it set to full resolution? It's the best camera I've seen on a phone. I tend to put some pictures through lightroom for minor adjustments but the sensor is amazing.

This was taken at around 6am, so just when the sun was starting to rise. I'm blown away by the low light capabilities

Yes it is. I know some pics come out nice, but I really think many of them could be better. I have been disappointed by some that were in great lighting, and I felt should have been much better than they were. BTW.....cute kitty! lol

outdoors is kinda ok but worse than Note 5, plus it have the oil painting effect and i hate it soo much!!!

However, mixed light and low light is unbeatable, many of my photos are amazing in low light, i just wish normal light would be at least on par with N5.

Yes. I agree. I wish the outdoor ones were better.

Well, I took this one of the tree in my back yard. I think it came out great! So maybe the couple settings I changed due to this thread helped. Thanks everyone!!! 20161028_141449.jpg

It's just about time for an upgrade and I was looking at the S7 Edge but it's not encouraging news about the camera.

Surprised there isn't a dedicated 'show your S7 Edge photos' thread?

They have a photos thread in the S7 forum. Since the cameras are the same in the S7/Edge, they just made one photos thread and that's in the S7 forum.

they say the S6 / S6e camera was better for regular outdoor, I think, or not ?

What settings did you use for that shot and where is it. Looks great.

Great - can you sum up again the setting changes ?

I think the biggest change I made was changing the HDR to Auto. I also turned on video stabilization. For some pictures I took for ebay I added more natural light, and less artificial light, and that seemed to make it less grainy, and the quality much better. For the tree one I took, I think it was the way the sun was at that time. And HDR being on Auto. The shots I took of the tree turned out nice.
