Hi all,
I bought a Galaxy Note 8 today (Country variant).
it has the 4.2.2 Android OS on it. I was about updating it to KitKat, but i read that a lot of users have problems with it.
so should I update or stay at this?
please advice.

thanks

I think Samsung forgot about the Note8... They had really poor support fro getgo

Do NOT update the device. You will lose useful access to your SD card (among other things). Worse, the device will probably start to over heat, and it will certainly run much slower. Also, to ensure that your service provider doesn't helpfully update it FOR you, root the thing. I didn't and I regret it every single day, since when it went to Kitcrap, I lost a ton of data and my machine now runs very poorly.

I have three Note 8's using 32 gig Micro SD cards that were updated to Kit Kat and haven't experienced any issues as of yet.

And you won't if you use those SD cards as read-only devices or use the stock Samsung programs to manage the data. Try using any 3rd party programs to write to the SD cards, and you'll see that, with very few exceptions, you can't.
