Not understanding a few things about AAHK

Hello everyone. Let me start by saying that I apologize in advance for any questions I ask that people hate to answer. I was going to ask the community over at XDA, but they seem to lack patients that most other places have.

So, I have an HTC Inspire 4G, came with Froyo, upgraded to GB whenever the OTA came out and I'm now running Adroid 2.3.5, Sense 3.0, 3.20.502.52. I've downloaded the AAHK which I believe the newest version is aahk-11092012? I'm not sure how to find out the actual version number as I haven't tried rooting yet. I also have aahk-12062012 if that's the latest.

Now, I thought I was ready to root my phone almost a week ago, but with more research comes more questions about things I thought I knew.

First off, can I even root my phone with my current version? I thought I could and the AAHK would just automatically downgrade for me, now I'm wondering if I have to download a past version myself (the effin manual says Sense 3.0 downgrades to HTC WWE EU GB 2.50.405.2) or if I can even run AAHK at ALL. I don't have high speed internet on this computer at my house, so if the AAHK needs it, I'll have to find a different computer.

Secondly, if I get caught up in a bind, how do you "run the hack kit again"? Do you just pull the cable or take out the battery with no harm done? I've read some people have to go through hboot because it won't boot properly and stuff but I'm still confused.

Also, with the clean PC environment, Windows Defender is already stopped because I have MSE, do I just tell MSE to turn off real-time protection? I don't see a simple OFF setting anywhere. Also with Apple services, I'm not sure which all they are since my task manager doesn't label them all as Apple, but if I uninstall iTunes, will it lose everything? My brother has an iPod and I want him to be able to reinstall it with no problems. And lastly, I've seen videos online of people running the kit and it automatically shuts down the unneeded services but they weren't rooting live. I've also clicked the wrong thing and opened the hack kit myself and it stopped everything. So, should you still manually do it yourself, service-by-service? ROMs seem even more complicated, so I think I'll just root my phone and learn some more before attempting to flash.

Once again, I'm really sorry for my noobishness. Hope I don't anger anybody, it's just like I said in the beginning, the more research I did, the more confused I got. Any answers will be GREATLY appreciated.

The numbers in the hack kit version are day/month/year, so 11092012 is newer than the other. The best way to run the hack kit is to make a Ubuntu Live CD and run it form there. Read the effin manual as many times that it takes for you to feel comfortable. If you have problems, that's the time to go to xda. Use the IRC from the hack kit forum.

I did more research and I seemed to have misread something on the aahk site about how there is no temproot and the only way is a more complicated way using the HtcDev unlocker. Still don't understand completely since I seem to be one of the few to have software 3.20.502 that hasn't rooted the Inspire yet.
