Not using apps, still high data usage

Apps on my mum's s6 are consuming data even when the phone's connected to WiFi. YouTube is the main culprit.

Also, Google maps and Skype have used massive amounts of data, despite the fact that Google maps is barely used and Skype is never used.

Could you post a screen shot of the data usage of those apps, or tell use how much data is being consumed? There may be apps syncing in the background consuming the data. You can check which apps sync by opening the settings of those apps or going into settings > accounts.

Sure. This is since 30th May
Maps: 144 mb
YouTube: 126 mb
Skype: 40.6 mb
Google services: 17.87 mb

YouTube has only been used while connected to WiFi. Google maps used once or twice since beginning of the month. Haven't used Skype at all.

Skype is one of the apps syncing in the background, but 40 mb? The other apps syncing in the background use barely anything
