Hello all. New to android and the forums. Coming from a Pre. I love the Optimus but am having trouble getting my phone to work with my airave. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Call airave tech support. If you have the white list set up you have to go online and add the phone. I had this problem with my EVO and they had to reset my airave to get it to connect.

Do u have Samsung one or new Airvana? I have airvana and it seems to work. not great but works. My samsung one was better. this one tends to jump from 3G to 1x. weird

If you had it allowed all, it should be working fine. if not call airave support and ask them. number is 866 556 7310. that should get u directly to airave support

I have the original airave and i didnt limit who can get on it. So my best bet is to call airave customer service? All other sprint phones that enter my house seem t get full bars.

Yes your best bet is to call them. Specially since other phones get full signal

Thanks for popsting the support number (866-566-7310). I also thought my new Optimus S wasn't using the Airave.

The Sprint rep told me Optimus signal strength bars will vary a lot when on Airave. I am sitting 10 feet from my Airave, but show just 1 or 2 bars; sometimes none. I tried several free signal strength apps, to see what tower I was using, but that didn't help.

To get the REAL answer, dial *99 to check your Airave connection. A recording will tell you if you are connected through Airrave.

By the way: When making the *99 call, my phone showed 5 bars.

The reason you are seeing the bars vary is due to your phone prefering a 3G connection. If you have WiFi at your house, connect your Optimus to that and you should see the 5 bars at "idle". I did that and I have no issues but if I forget to turn WiFi on, my signal is all over the place.

Tried this still have no bars. Also dd the *99. Had full bars during the call but as soon as i hung up, back down to zero.. Just have to gear up for the cat and mouse game with airave support.

Ok all. I think I have it. I show no bars before I make any calls. Once I dial and hit the green button my Optimus seems to connect. I get the beeps plus I look and see full bars. Once I hang up Zero bars. But it works when call is in progress. Ive called 3 different people and its worked every time. Post and let me know if the same works for you all.

Hmm, not sure since I have full bars when in range of my Airave when I have WiFi on but not with it off.

Wifi on-off doesnt matter for my phone. Zero bars until I actually place the call. Im running the original airave if that makes a difference.

Probably Not an Issue

I've had a Palm Treo Pro for over a year that does the same thing. Full bars 1x connection when making/receiving calls from Airave, but shows 0/1 bars 3g when not being used. I never miss a call.

Airave is a 1x device, but I get a very weak 3g signal in my house. I seems that even though it doesn't show it, that the 1x connection is always available in the background, and that is used for making/receiving calls.
