Is there an android app or software update that would allow me to use my AT&T modem with the GALAXY 10.1? The modem is usb and already has it's dataplan up and ready. Proble is AT&T Communications Manager only works for Windows and MAC. Does anyone know of a workaround, softare update or android app that would allow me to use the AT&T number and make the GALAXY essentially a smartphone?

The only way to do that would be to use Google Voice and port the phone number to that service. Without that there is nothing you can do. If AT&T or Samsung wanted the 10.1" Note to be a massive Smartphone, they would have included a SIM Card slot.
