Hi guys. Just watched unpacked introducing the 2014 edition Note 10.1. Does anyone know if the original 10.1 will receive any further updates to recieve any of the new features. I'm still loving my tablet and dont really wanna upgrade anytime soon.

Thanks in advance :)

Hello all!
I have had my note for 11 months, love it and use it daily but it has begun to frustrate me with lag time. It has become very slow at time and I can't trade up to the 2014 model. I wonder if anyone has advice?
Not rooted, and frankly I am not at all savvy or comfortable with rooting. And the dreaded thought of bricking my tab further puts off any rooting.
I have the 16gb model, have plenty of apps which I periodically uninstall to allow for free space and memory. Use Clean Sweep to boost and kill apps.
Very curious whether there may be an update to help?

Thank you kindly,
Gilgomez

I don't intend to get the new one, cool as they are! I got the Note 3 and have to figure that's enough of a hit on my budget. When I had my first Note, I got some goodies in updates, not as much so that it equaled the Note 2 but it was enough so I didn't feel ignored either. Frankly, the 10.1 with multi screen, being able to slide clips from the web to a note, multi-tasker extraordinaire, etc. etc. is still better than anything that doesn't have Note and 2014 after it, isn't it? Well, *I* think so anyway, IMHO, so having second best is pretty durned good!

Don't think anyone outside of Samsung "knows". But sammobile.com seems to feel they have reliable info that the 10.1 will go as high as 5.0 before its end of life.

Android 5? :D Sorry, but if it is going to happen, I bet Im six feeth under before my Note 10.1 gets it. I would be more than happy, if it gets only 4.3 to be compatible with their accessories and new version of SNote app.

The rumour of getting A5 is quite old and there wasnt any notes about A4.4 then. If ever that rumour was true, I bet it has been changed and now it is more or less wrong info...

I have a Note 10.1 with Android 4.1.2 on it, and a Nexus 10 with Android 4.3 on it and awaiting The Kit Kat 4.4 update shortly. I bought the Nexus 10 first, and though that the Note 1 would be better and it is in some respects, but not in updates. Right now I am not too pleased with Samsung. I bought a refurbished Note 10.1, and am now feeling like a second class citizen with them. No support of any kind except to tell you to call the number of the company that resold them as refurbished. They probably don't know which way is up. I knew that I didn't have any warranty on it, but for sure HP and other technical companies treat you better than Samsung. With such lousy customer service, they may find themselves on a downward spiral in the years ahead. If you can't trust them to update their products and even provide customer service, then guess I will buy from another Android maker in the future. I guess they are just about getting as bad as Apple.
