Note 10 5G - Can I use my grandfather plan SIM card?

The ancient grandfather Verizon unlimited plan SIM has already been cut down to fit an S9+, so it should fit size-wise. But I am curious if it will even work with the 5G Note 10?

I am pretty sure it wouldn't be able to use the 5G towers that I run across, just 4G, but if that's the case, I am fine with it.

I have a chance to buy a Note 10 5G for the same price as a standard Note 10+, so I am wondering if I should go with it.

Just realized I live in an area with 5 g coverage per the speed stamp on my notify bar. Will 5g consume more juice if I return my plus regular for a 5g phone?

Make sure your grandfathered plan isn't throttled. I think all the carriers except for AT&T (legal thing) have been getting around the grandfathering by seriously throttling speeds for those plans.

It's not. I was running 4G hotspots at remote events all the time until they nuked FoxFi. Now I can only USB tether, but it's still not throttled.

If you have AT&T and it says 5G in the notification bar, that is not real 5G. It is a marketing ploy by AT&T.

So, does anyone know the answer to the original question regarding whether 4G SIM cards will work in the Note 10 5G?

It's not. They're saying they have a super old grandfathered plan. That's not the name.

Not likely. I'm on 5G pretty much everywhere here in Switzerland and battery life has been fantastic.
