Hey all. Question about smartwatch tech? I recently made the switch from apple to Android and feel like the distance tracking is off with the Galaxy active 2 watch. What I'm wondering though is that if I run with my phone but am using Strava on the watch, are the two talking during the run to give distance? Just wanting to make sure my distances and splits are accurate.

Ask them if Strava uses the watch's GPS or the phone's GPS.

I think that if the app was started on the watch it would use watch GPS. I have found (at least with Gear S2 watch) that GPS standalone was terrible but when connected to phone it was more accurate. I have the Active 2 but have not tested GPS accuracy standalone vs. connected yet.

Did you make sure you've installed the latest updates for the watch. There was an update to fix the GPS accuracy.
