note 10+ not updating

I kept my att note 10+ (sm-n975u) as a spare. No sims so it is wifi only. I have been using it for skype and other features. I just noticed that it is still on the June security patch. Is there a way to force update or am I going to have to update it manually?

Can check Smart Switch dont think it will work , most likey odin , use tmb firmware.

as far as I know it does not work on linux and I do not have a computer with windows on it.

ATT phones will only update if the ATT Sim card is in there. If you have one from another phone, pop it in, check for updates, then swap it back. Also, sneaky ATT will only let you check for updates once in a 24 hour period, so you may need to wait...or move your system time ahead if you see no update.

I actually tried that after my original post. Did not work. did not know about the 24 hour bit so will try again. Thanks

Installed Windows 10 a bit ago (what a pain) just to try smart switch - ss would not update. At least I now have a local backup if I decide to keep windows I have a dual boot again so I may keep it for a bit.

Had a feeling it wouldn't, flash through odin , trust me looks hard but pretty easy once familiar

I have a locked Note 10+ from Verizon I'm waiting for the Android 12 update has anyone gotten it yet any help with this request would surely be appreciated

just to update

Finally got the note 10+ updated to Jan security patch. Took five different updates to get there. Decided to use the sims card from the s21 ultra to get it done. I tried it a couple of weeks ago but did not know I could only check for updates once every 24 hours if none were available so I thought it would not work. Now waiting for Android 12. What I find interesting is the s21u does not have January's security patch yet.

I have forgotten how much I liked the Note 10+. Was tempted to keep using it but it would have been messy since some smart and banking apps cannot be use on more than one device for various reasons. oh well. I hate to see a perfecting good phone gathering dust as a backup.
